Friday Night-Movie Night

Hi Yall,

Grab some popcorn and your PJ's and snuggle in for some Friday Night entertainment with the Loftins!

Ok, the truth is: We couldn't decide which video to post tonight...so you get them all. Clayton changes so much everyday. I can't wait to wake up each morning to see what that day holds for us!

I was a little nervous when the doctor asked us if Clayton was 'playing any games' yet. Nope, I didn't think so. Except, when we got home that afternoon, Clayton decides that he is going to make a liar out of me and play a little/lot of Peek-a-Boo. He cracks himself up. Watch closely or you might miss them-he tends to do it really quickly!

Last, but not least. Clayton has discovered how to stall nap time (I had no idea that 9 month olds were so ingenius). He will do anything: 1) For a laugh and 2) Not to have to go to sleep.

Happy Memorial Day Ya'll

We spent a whole day at home... JUST GETTIN' INTO TROUBLE!

Clayton has discovered the TP and has decided to decorate for the holiday!

We did some yard work, had some friends over, and most importantly: ATE, ATE, ATE! (hence the video)

Clayton has decided that what you have on your plate is much more appealing then what he has. So, instead of fighting the jarred-baby-food-spitting, we've started giving him table food. Whether he is fully nurished by it, I'm not exactly sure. But, at least it's intertaining!

"Cake-Attack"

Nope, it wasn't a cake to the face, but better...

NO calorie....NO fat....NO sugar...Birthday Cakes!

Surprisingly, I was 'pleasantly surprised' around midnight last night with a cake attack. Lilli was the first to greet the attackers. It wasn't until the door bell rang that I even knew the sweet surprise! You'd think a ringing at midnight would be trouble. Nope, it put the biggest smile on my face and I was so happy I couldn't even sleep! I've never been 'attacked' before.

Thanks you guys for remembering my birthday! You made it a great one!!

I woke up to cakes...cakes and more cakes! They surrounded the house and were topped off with all the chocolate a girl could handle for breakfast!

Field Trip

Chris had last Thuresday off of school so we decided to explore Oklahoma.
Our first stop was Express Clydesdale. It is a working Clydesdale farm in the middle of no-where OK, so they let anyone come walk around the farm.

They even had a Zebra and mini ponies that you could pet.

Chris and I loved the horses....
Clayton loved the accessories...

And most of all, the DOGS!!

Martin Park was our next stop.

This is a cool little park with several trails in the middle of a town. You can still hear the faint sounds of the highway, acting as back ground noise to the running streams. It was a breath of fresh air! Equipped with a big tree house look-out, streams, prairie dog watch and bird houses everywhere!

Little did we know..but...Oklahoma is known for having ticks. I thought that I was pulling a hanging scab off of Clayton but it started moving. Then Chris comes in wanting me to pull one off of him too. I haven't been the same since. I keep getting this 'crawling' sensation like there are ticks on me too. Ahhh! Looks like we're going to wait until the fall to go back to Martin Park.

Dinner Ritual

Here is a small glimpse into the Loftin's dinner routine!
It goes a little something like this...
Clayton emptying out the cabinets while mom cooks dinner. I didn't realize how many paper plates actually come in one pack until I had a little tornado! Isn't it just the best when your child realizes he can touch the top of his head?!

...and then realizes that a nice mashed potato face mask is great for the complextion!
(that's not a deformed ear...nope...that's a mashed potato ear-with a little corn on the side)
Clean up happens to be my favorite. AND if you don't have pants on, you can kiss your skin good-bye! I wouldn't trade my little helper for anything though!

Uncle Jeffrey in the House!

We were SO happy when Uncle Jeffrey came to visit us this week on his way south for the summer! He has all sorts of new and exciting noises that we haven't heard before (noise goes over really well in our home!). Clayton discovered computers-at least the parts that he was allowed to play with. The keyboard happened to be a huge hit...
...and apparently so did photo shop.
Thanks Uncle Jeffrey for a great week! We love you!

"Pulling-Up" Update

Gerber says it perfectly: "Your baby should be pulling up on things this month. It is amazing how they can figure out how to pull up on things on their own but have no idea how to get down".

Clayton has been pulling up for just over one week and boy do we have some pictures to prove it. I think it is so cute! Chris, on the other hand, says its not so cute now that he is missing big patches of leg hair!

Clayton has a great love for the kitchen (I'm pretty sure he got that from his daddy). Dispite all the great help I now receive in the kitchen, it takes almost twice as long to do any chores. One fork in...two spoons out...
My question is: How does Clayton know just exacly which silverware are the knifes? He seems to prefer the sharp objects. Looks like all the silverware will be pointing down from now on!
You will notice this face throughout the pictures. I'm guessing it's Clayton's guilty face as he has it permanenty plastered on his photo face. He thinks that "NO" is the funniest word!

Clayton going grocery shopping.
Not only is Clayton pulling up but he has also decided to try climbing.
We no longer have anything glass left in our fridge. All the condiments have either been broken or transfered.
Weekly Wounds: Just one big gouge out of his head as he hit the end table trying to take a dive off of the bed.
