Clayton's Favorite Pass-Time

During the ice storm we had to stay in our empty apartment with only a computer and our son to entertain us.

We discovered Clayton's favorites.

Here they are...

Piggy back on daddy!

This is a new trick...biscuit eating.

MMMMM.....

Teething or Discovering?!

The doctors said that at this age children put everything in their mouths to 'discover' new things. I though Clayton was starting to teeth, taking into account all the drool. So, we bought him a teething ring that he could hold on to. Too bad its pink! That's ok, he doesn't seem to mind. But, he would rather chew on mom and dad (Dad's nose is a good target). We seem to be easier to catch then that pink teething ring!

Burrrrr!

Yep, we are still feeling the wrath of last weeks ice storm.
This picture is the perfect example of the past week...trying to stay warm.
Today we finally have some sunshine so our little 'pack' is soaking up some rays!
The electric crews were on our street this morning so we are hopeful for some power tonight and to be able to sleep in our own beds.
It's fun camping out but we are tired of eating french fries!

Giggles

This was such a treat! Clayton, out of no where, had his tickle box flipped over. However, I think anyone would be laughing if there was a momma making a fool of herself on their behalf. Anyways he was so cute. Needless to say, he didn't get in bed on time that night. We were too busy playing.

Go LSU!

Sorry our blog is late. Our camera is in the shop and I'm scrounging for pictures to keep everyone updates.

This is Clayton's rally for LSU in their 2nd over time...the rally didn't exactly work out for us this time but in the end, LSU got a spot in the championship...yeah.I don't know if Clayton is going to be a sports buff or if he just likes everyone else's reaction to the action, but he was lovin game time!

He is sporting Lolli's home-made rattle. It is made up of a little plastic cup, BBs, and a plastic knife. It's probably not recommended by the board of Pediatrics but Clayton loves it! And, we couldn't find any old-school rattles. Everything is so fancy now days.

A monkey and a rattle... What else could a boy hope for? I'm sure its normal but Clayton's best friends seem to be all inanimate objects! His favorite seems to be the ceiling fan; They have more conversations than we do with Clayton!

Happy Thanksgiving 2007

Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!!
We are enjoying a long weekend in Shreveport Louisiana. Clayton has been such a great little guy. I think it helps that he had 12+ hands at his beck n' call!! I'm is loving this!
This is Clayton's first Sunday Outfit. Thanks to Lolli we have the best dressed kid in town! We got to do a bunch of after-thanksgiving-day shopping.

Congratulations Chad and Amency! They just bought 10 acres and a little house in Benton Louisiana. This is the result of a cold ride home from the property. Thanks Aunt Mency!

Burrr! It got a little chilli after Thanksgiving and we had a hard time getting Lilli to go outside. It's going to be a long winter in OK.

Check Out My Hair Line!

Thanks to Austin we have discovered a star!
When Clayton popped out there wasn't a nurse in the room that didn't say "Check out that hair line". We were a litter nervious about how to fix the crazy cow-liked hair but Matt gave us inspiration!
Ok, so you avid blog readers can tell that I haven't taken any new pictures. We are in the process of moving. Our computer is in the Apartment and the camera and accessories are at the new house. So, not to fear, new house pictures will be coming after Thanksgiving!

3 Months Old!

3 Months old and already reading! Well close....Clayton loves the 'baby' in the mirror. He just smiles and smiles at him.
This is the exact spot that all of the action takes place (feeding and sleeping!). We bought this cheap recliner/rocker and it has been the best investment yet! It's the favorite in our family.
"Are you talkin' to me?"
Clayton doesn't like laying on his belly but he loves being propped up on the boppy pillow. However, this is a picture right before a nose dive. His legs work really really well and flip him over. We just have to get the hands on board to catch him when he falls!

Remodeling

Yeah, we are finally going to be able to settle into a home. Kay (Lolli) and Aunt Mency came to Oklahoma this weekend to help us start painting and cleaning up a house that we are leasing for the next 4 years. Although buying would've been fun, we are really glad this situation worked out for us and we love the house.

It needed a little work to get the smokey smell out and a little deep cleaning. So, Amency got roped into steaming all the wall paper off. Check out that HOT momma!

Clayton was a big help in th Distraction-Department. He loves the change in scenery and all the chaos. We are really looking forward to the sun room and the back yard!

Stay tuned....more house pictures to come!

My 1st Halloween!

Clayton's First Halloween. He was sporting an "Itsy, Bitsy, Spider" shirt that Aunt Gail gave him!

We are on our way to church for the chilli cook-off and Trunk-or-Treating! Chris is a pirate as usual and Clayton is wishing he was in his warm PJs. He loved all the people but would have preferred going Trunk or Treating about 10 in the morning!
Loftins won the Halloween Costume Contest. It must have been all Lilli because the rest of us are wearing Wal-Mart Costumes. We didn't even know we won and left early. Oops, I wonder what the prize could be.
Well, another Halloween come and gone and even as 'adults' I ate TOO MUCH candy. Good thing my husband is studying to be a dentist!!!

Best Buds!

Alot of people have asked how Lilli is taking to the new addition; or should I say...her lap replacement. As you can see, she doesn't let anything stand/lay in her way of getting some attention. She either really likes Clayton or is just pretending to and plotting to lick him to death! I really helps now that Clayton has a runny nose and Lilli happens to like to lick noses (yuck!). I think eventually these two will be Best Buds!

Clayton and Me

Clayton's first hug-back. Ok, so looks are deceiving! Clayton actually fell over from a sitting position and couldn't get back up. And, he shared the love while he was down!

Clayton's favorite song so far is the "Bear Necessities" from The Jungle Book. So, we let him watch that part of the movie. He loved it! Couldn't keep his eyes off of the TV!

I'm Growing UP!

AAAHHHH!!! My baby is growing so quickly. Look at those neck muscles! He loves looking around and making any kind of noise that he can muster up. He has such personality (I don't know if it's Chris's or mine yet).
I had to post this picture. This is one of my favorite outfits and it only fit Clayton for about 2 weeks. All his pants have turned into capri pants! Check out those legs. They are finally getting some girth to them.
This looks like child abuse (not even putting my child on a blanket to sleep) but you leave them where they lay if their asleep!!!

Loftin Landing

It Clayton's first trip to the lake in Benton, LA. He had many great visitors. Aunt Gail and Granny spent the morning with us. Then we went on a boat cruise sporting the hat and sun glasses. Clayton liked it so much that he fell asleep! Thanks Lolli, Pop, Aunt Mency and Uncle Chad for a great relaxing weekend. I really enjoyed the extra hands!

OU Baby Shower

That's right...another baby shower. I know what you're thinking...he's already 2 months old and he is still getting a baby shower!
That's what I thought too until Chris's dental class insisted on throwing us and 2 other couples a baby shower. Now I realize that it was a good excuse to get together for pizza and cake. I can't dispute that!
They were incredibly generous and got us these cute little OU outfits.
Chris had a hard time accepting it because it wasn't LSU gear :)! But, here's our future little dentist!

Clayton Speaks Out

Clayton is 2 Months Old!!!

Clayton is measuring over 24 inches and weighing in at almost 11 pounds. I can't believe how fast he is growing. He isn't such an infant anymore. He wants to be so active that it is impossible to get past his kicking to get a snuggle in unless he is asleep.
Check out those overalls. We have a farmer in the family.

Clayton Goes Bowling

My boys love to play!!
Clayton did so well his first bowling trip. Infact, he was so stimulated by the lights and all the people that we couldn't get him to go to bed! That just means he sleeps all the next day!

Picture Perfect Nursery

Welcome to our nursery. We love it!! It looks like it should be in a magazine (I didn't have much to do with it!). In my pregnant mind, I just couldn't make ANY decissions. So...after several attempts at picking out a bed and even more attempts at finding the perfect baby bedding we are finally done!

Furniture compliments of Grandma Downard and decor thanks to Lolli Loftin (Lolli made everything in fabric. What talent!). You made our nursery dreams come true! Thanks G-ma and Lolli!

Clayton loves the newly recovered rocker. We spend many nights in this waiting for him to get tired enough to sleep. Hence his onesie says "I pulled an all-nighter". That's a bit of an understatement...so, we love this chair!

Clayton...Clayton and More Clayton

Our little "Tax Deduction". This was the first onesie that we bought, or should I say...Chris bought. I don't know how true this is while we are in dental school but maybe someday!

As you can see, Clayton's first words are probably going to be "No Lilli". She is a little confused on her place in our new 'pack'.

Clayton looks like he is struggling but this is his favorite time of day...when we go on a walk. He can be fussy all day and we put him in the backpack, he is magically a new baby. Maybe its just the sun shining in his eyes making him have to close them, but he always just relaxes and falls asleep. They need one of these backpacks for adults!

This is the cutiest!! This is Clayton listening to Chris as he recaps his day. Clayton must think his daddy is the funniest person because he gives him some great smiles. He just started smiling. It's completely random so capturing it on camera was a treat!
