Oklahoma's Finest

Ahhh, summer in the OKC....

Chris was outside mowing the lawn and I was on the phone with Adrianne...we looked up and saw the clouds swirling and then came the sirens. We ran over to the neighbor's storm shelter and had a regular neighborhood meeting down there. After the deafening hail and 120 degree shelter, we came out to Christmas morning.
last time this happened, we got a new roof.

what would a blog be without the C-Town. He loved all the 'balls' on the ground. He would've stayed out for the whole sha-bang if he had his way! Lilli, on the other hand, was very happy to be in the shelter with the sane people.

Update:

Not a whole lot going on this week. We are getting ready to go on our road trip to San Antonio and Florida, so this may be a stagnent blog for awhile. Our most exciting part of the week was going to the water park with our friends the Hamblins. Clayton had a smile on his face for at least 2 hours straight. Looks like we may have to get a pass next year.
Thank you cousin Sean for sharing your Dino's with us. Aunt Renee sent us a great box full of Dinos. Clayton has been carrying them around everywhere. In fact, I think I may have as many as 3 of the lovely creatures hanging out in my purse right now. Plus, Clayton likes to put them on our bed in the morning. You can imagine the surprise I get opening my eyes to a Jurassic sight!

Happy 4th Weekend!

Chris was off school for a whole 4 days this weekend and we kept him busy!!! Here's (some of) a recap (plus we went to a rodeo, smoked a turkey on his new smoker, watched moves...The Grinch over and over again, etc):
picken' blackberries...it was all fun and games until Clayton realized that there was a tractor (the berry picken' ended abruptly).

Lots of Chillin'! After we got rained out at the 4th of July, the weather was beautiful!

Cowboy museum. Clayton was great! He stayed in his stroller for 2 hours (never happened before ;). I think, in reality, he was afraid of all the life-sized characters!

OK, so the big-boy-bed is getting to be more familiar. I think this night, he gathered up all of his stuff and made a palet for himself on the floor. It didn't matter how many times I put him back in bed, I always found him 'camping' on the floor.

When Lolli and Pop (and JB) come to town...

It's always fun when Lolli and Pop (or Pok as Clayton calls him...he is combining Pop and Popcorn-his favorite- inventive little tike) come to town! We played a lot and worked a lot. Actually, Lolli/Pop/JB worked a lot and Clayton and I played a lot.
Here are the results of a great weekend:
This was Clayton's contribution to helping make a bench seat for his new Big-Boy room. Yep, those are all bite marks made as he watched The Grinch....again.

Pop made us a food storage shelf so that we could clear out the baby's closet and start filling it with pink stuff ;). Kay told him it had to hold 400 pounds. Chris was trying it out.
Clayton's first night in his big boy bed. Either he chose to sleep ont he floor or we need to put up the bed railing. I haven't figured it out yet.
We are going to a Nautical look in here but we don't have all the finishing touches yet....pictures to follow! PS His curtains are so cool, they look like sails rolled up with rope.

AHHHH....PINK. I love this room. This is Kay making a "Pelmet" (that's the thing over the window and curtains). This room isn't set up yet but it is so nice and relaxing to walk into. Pictures, also, to follow!!
Thanks Lolli and Pop...we have a whole new house in one weekend!!
