Our Week...

So apparently, and I didn't know this, if you take your baby into the ER for a fever, they keep them until they determine the specific problem. So, Wednesday we went to the ER because Laney's fever wasn't coming down and we just got home (Friday Afternoon) after we discovered that it was just a bacterial infection....somewhere in her little body. Here are the pictures; and boy was she a trooper.
We couldn't get her to stop eating her IV. It was 48 hours of antibiotics via IV and out the door to a winter wonderland.

It had iced 1/2-1 inches and snowed A LOT by the time Laney and I got out of the hospital. Clayton kept telling me that it was raining 'snowman'. This is me teaching him to write in his window breath steam.

But everyone is home and healty now, thanks to everyone who helped us out!
PS. Not that this was the point, but I lost weight in the hospital. Guess I never was the type to love cafeteria food. Or maybe it was the looks of Laney's plate that came just like mine EXCEPT in the form of a puree. I'm pretty sure it was something Lilli left us on the floor yesterday.
Claytonism of the week.... Apparently if broccoli looks like trees, and smells like the outdoors....it must be trees. And, this is how cookie monster eats 'trees':

Finally, Laney Gets Something All to Herself

Our little girl is almost 4 months old and we are loving every minute of her. This is our little friend Jacek (he was born 2 days after Laney) and we love when he comes to play. Check our her look.
She's 'holding' her bottle. It is more of a balancing act and she gets really mad when her own finger breaks the suction and nothing comes out.

Laney desperately trying to roll over. She has to take all the chances she can get because we rarely let her down on the ground (we have a Clayton, a chihuahua and she really likes to be held).

Ok, so what's a blog without Clayton. This is him sharing her toy with her. So nice of him. In fact, every time that he does 'share', he comes running exclaiming "nice boy, nice boy".
Laney has started giggling this week. I love it. It just brings a tear of joy to your eye when your baby is so excited to see you that she can't control herself (and a different kind of tear when you hear her dad trying to get her to laugh ;).
PS. She's still a snorter!

January Claytonisms....

Clayton’s new sayings: “I did it” with a huge exclamation and smile. Clayton now refers to himself as “the boy”… he says “kiss the boy” or “the boy do it”. My favorite saying has to be “don’t you do it”. Hmmmm, I wonder where he picked that one up?!
Clayton has decided that it is more comfortable to wear his socks inside out-and demands it, he has found the long-lost art of making shadow puppets, and cannot get enough of Christmas songs (We found him singing “O Christmas Tree” to everything… example). He’d say “O Snowman, O Snowman”. Pretty creative.
Clayton is learning anatomy: This month in the bath tub, Clayton has discovered the “girl hiney” verses the “boy hiney”. He is a little concerned that girls have 2 hineys. How does that work?
Clayton is learning to share (obvious by all the pictures with ‘stuff’ ON Laney). We are slowly growing out of the hitting stage and into other stages, but Clayton is doing really well with the sharing concept.
Picture: I asked Clayton to go in his room and find his shoes. Distracted (as a 2 year old should be)he came back riding his fire truck, wearing the appropriate hat and having his shoes on his hands.
-One day Clayton’s stuffed animals, that he sleeps with, smelled awful. I told Clayton that they needed a bath and proceeded to throw them in the washing machine. I’d forgotten about this incident until the other day when I hear Clayton running down the call with his bed mates saying, “Rosco, Blue, Patch take a bath”. Then I had to take a picture and document the ‘cleanest’ child’s stuffed animals ever.
Here she is... slowing growin her own personality (just as long as you don't set her down).

Brrrr.....It's Cold Out Here!

We are back from a great "Hot-lanta" (Atlanta) Christmas break! We set up a humidifier in Clayton's room and when we woke up....icicles had formed on his window. I don't think that he minds much though. Everytime he sees a piece of snow (which is everywhere in OK right now) he exclaims, "Snowman, Snowman". We've even found him outside in his socks on the snow/ice. Not without consequences, he runs in saying his hands hurt!
Thanks to Santa, we are proud owners of a Wii. Clayton can't get enough of the Penguine balancing game... And I love the Wii fit (Laney does too)!!
We hope everyone had a great Christmas and we wish you all a GREAT New Year!
