Oklahoma's Annual Ice Storm

That's right...the ice has returned. I never thought that we would get over the memories of ice storm 2008, but thank goodness this years did not bring too much salt in the wound. We didn't even lose power and we had Chris home for 3 days.

Clayton couldn't be happier about the situation. It was so funny, he would start running on the ice, but not going anywhere, until gravity would take over and he would fall. He looked like a cartoon character. The problem was him not keeping his gloves on. When he hit the ice, catching himself with this hands, he would just cry and cry. But, that sure didn't stop him.

After the storm came the sunshine!

Yes, the ice passed and out came the sun. So, we had to seize the day with some great friends at the OK Zoo. It was such a breath of fresh air to see the sky again! Check out Clayton's new best friend...thanks for being a trooper Tristan!
Clayton is one of those kids where people will say, "He's never met a stranger". He always walks into a room, scouts out where the action is, and goes to join it. This little girl that he is standing by was yelling at his the whole time about 'not touching her' but he thought it was great that someone was so passionate to/with him.
This last video was us being entertained during the ice shut-in. Clayton learned to say 'zoo' that day. See if you can pick it out.

Play ground

Here is a little sneak peak of our little secret... our indoor home-made playroom. We are so lucky to have a sun room to stick all of Clayton's toys in. The weather in OK is beyond crazy. It may look beautiful outside but once you're out, the wind changes your mind quickly. So, when its sunny, the room is nice and toasty!

Here is the result of childhood memories. We got a new deep feeze for Christmas and Chris couldn't throw the box away. It has a much greater use now. Its just big enough to squeeze an adult in and shove kid on top.
To anyone close to MWC: It might not be McDonalds but we're open to all friends. Come join us!!

Couch Potato

I was one of those mom that said "My kid isn't going to watch TV until he's 5 (or so)". What I get for opening my mouth...a regular couch potato. Clayton gets out of bed and runs straight to open the tv cabinet.

His favorite perch!

Now we are working on the distance-from-tv lesson.
*Off the subject a bit...but I thought it was pretty funny. Clayton isn't afraid to get his hair cut. Actually, he really likes it. It's the sitting in one place for minutes at a time that posesses the problem. So, we cut the back one day and the top on another day.

R.I.P.

In memory of Bri's cell phone. It went the way of the big garbage mound down the road.

Yep, compliments of Clayton (at least I think), my cell phone got trashed over a week ago and I feel completely out of touch. I don't have ANYONE's number.
SO I'm writing this post in plea to all of you faithful bloggers.
Help... when you get a minute, will you send me your phone number? That way I can reprogram a new phone. My email is ccloftin@aol.com or just leave it on the blog.
Thanks ya'll!!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Chris starts back at school on Monday which means we are finally getting back into our old routine (sorry about the lapse in blogs!). We hope everyone is having a great start to 2009!

We had a great Christmas at Lolli and Pops, seeing all of the family.

Does anyone remember GloWorms? They're back and Clayton loves his new bedtime-buddy!

There have been some beautiful weather around here lately...we just couldn't resist the big pile of leaves lingering on the side of our house where the "wind comes sweeping through the planes".

For those of you that we don't get to see very often...here is recent video of Clayton, just being Clayton. Uncle Jeffrey has officially names Clayton "Delux Model Button Pusher" as you will be able to see in the video.

Tis the Season

Merry Christmas Everyone!

This year I was planning on foregoing the Christmas decor for obvious 16-month-old reasons. But I had a little visit from some elves while I was in Navarre....and I can't help but love the results.

Clayton's shirt is a classic for 2008. It says, "Dear Santa, I really tried this year (honest)".

Such a good little helper.

We try not to say "no" to Clayton but somehow he has managed to fall in love with the word. So, this is a picture of him telling himself "NO" as he touches the ordaments. I can't wait. Christmas is going to be so fun this year with Clayton!
