On The Move! A Laney Update!

But here she is...cruisin' the living room! She is well on her way to standing up on her own for a bit and she is getting quite fast walking around the furniture. My favorite is that she has to be in 'the pile' (as Clayton calls it) AKA on top of whomever is laying on the ground. SORRY, looks like the video didn't work. SOOOO, here's the many fAcEs of Laney...

Fairwell Faithful Friend!

Yesterday we got the news that Lilli had wondered into the wrong yard and didn't make it out. It was her passion to go exploring (and to ruffle a few feathers). This time it didn't work out in her favor. I am surprised how difficult it is to say goodbye to our little ball-of-fire; but it hasn't been without tears and a lot of looking around the corner to see if she is going to come running when we mention taking a 'walk'. So to all the good memories, we say "We love you and will miss you Lilli-Lou".

We always got to know our neighbors by walking Lilli outside. Everyone would stop to talk to her. I guess we'll just have to use our kids to make friends now.

Saturday night we had some friends come over for a festival feast!
A night full of great friends, delicious food and fun fireworks!

My favorite thing that Clayton does (this week) is say the Pledge of Allegiance-speedy style.

Call him up on the phone, he'll run to a flag in the house and recite it to you in no time-flat.

Tinker Red, White and Blue Air Show!

This post is a bit late, last week we went onto the base to watch the air show. Clayton insisted on riding an air plane. But, sitting in them held him over for the morning. This is him pointing out that there's an airplane in the sky (maybe you didn't hear it?) I thought this was so funny! This is our tax dollars at hard work. Why does the military need a big wheel? Either way, Clayton was happy that they brought it out today!

Some of the pilots let Clayton sit in their planes. This was he said was "Uncle Chad's" helicopter.

It was a bit HOT so we didn't stay for the jets but this is our walk back to the car... Laney is sleeping in the driver's seat.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my Best Hubby...Chris! He deserves the "Loftin Father of the Year Award" in my book. Juggling patients, tests, YM and still has plenty of time for us! He is a great example and one awesome Dad!

We found a really cute website that had Father/Son matching ties. Clayton was so excited to wear a tie. If our waiter (or anyone he sees) has a tie on, he promptly tells them that they need to be in church...doesn't miss a beat.

Clayton and I had talked about giving Daddy a present on Father's Day (however, I didn't tell him what because he totally blew it on my birthday). So, when Clayton woke up Sunday morning, he runs in our room and asks, "Daddy, you want a present?" How can you say no to that?

A Tribute to David Bowie...

Here's our girl rockin' the 80's. Mullet on top and white jeans on the bottom. Chris calls it "business in the front, Party in the back". I call it adorable!

On another note: we took the kids bowling this week for the first time. They had these really cool dinosaur things that you roll the ball down. Clayton, no joke, scored higher than us. It was fun watching his ball (the heaviest one he could find on the shelf) roll slowly down the lane.

The start to a lovely/girly shoe collection. We had quite a few pair of shoes for Laney and then our friend brought over a ton more. Here's her collection. With exception to 1 pair, they're all size 4. I can only hope that her feet stay a 4 for a long time. These are too cute to pass up.

Laney has been spending quite a bit of time looking at herself in the fireplace. She either really likes the 'baby' in the picture, or she's just stuck in this position (probably a little of both).

I realize that to an innocent Loftin-Paradise onlooker, it may seem as if I post the craziest pictures that I can find/make. Not the case, I assure you. This is the life in a day at the Loftin's (and Paradise doesn't quite discribe the joys here). Clayton has decided that patience is not a virtue to a two year old, and has figured out how to get his own movies (verses waiting for mom to come over and help him). I wonder why it is that most of my pictures are of Clayton in his undies?! I guess it could be worse!

We got to take the Midwest City Primary on a little field trip to the Temple. It was a beautiful day, with beautiful people and one great picnic. This is Laney and Daddy playing at the picnic.

Laney is pulling up on EVERYTHING these days. She prefers Clayton's things but it doesn't really matter. All she needs now are some leather chaps. Vroom!
