The Big Climb

In attempt to help Clayton start pulling up yesterday, Chris made him his own baby climbing wall. Clayton seemed more interested in the camera then climbing, though. However, when the box was flat on the ground, Clayton thought it was the best jungle gym ever....It's easier to go over the box then around it I guess!

Sorry this is sideways!
So after all of Chris's efforts to help Clayton pull himself up, a couple of hours latter...Clayton decides to make the big move on his own terms! We were excited but he was pretty dang proud of himself too! The problem is now he can push all the buttons on the TV, leaving us with mostly static to watch!

On this monumental day, we had to have the battle wounds to accompany. It's tough to tell in this picture but Clayton has his first black and blue mark from falling and hitting the edge of the piano while in the ever-so-desired standing position! I see many more bruises in our future and maybe even some stiches....scars--COOL!

Oklahoma City's Botanical Garden

Lolli and Pop Loftin came in for the weekend. Even thought Clayton was a little under it, the weather was perfect- NO WIND- for checking out the beautiful gardens in downtown Oklahoma City. We had a great time and love when they come visit!

Why Waste Good Space?

As I've blogged at an earlier date, Clayton only uses his bumper for a pillow, the ties holding it to the bed- for a pacifier and a sliver of the bed to sleep. This is fairly normal. Looks like we have a thrifty one on our hands.

Baby Talk

It seems Chris and Clayton speak the same 'secret' language ( the language of the tickel box overturn). WARNING: Nudity may apply. Clayton has learned how to take the velcro tabs off his diaper and therefore freeing himself of all coverage.

1st Swim Lessons

Clayton is enrolled in the YMCA's Mommy-n-Me Class (it actually is more of a Chris-n-Me class though!) I get to hang out on the sidelines taking 100's of pictures-hence the extensive display on this weeks blog!
There are about 10 parent-child couples and we work on swimming on our back/fronts, blowing bubbles, jumping off the edge, singing and swimming towards toys!

Clayton's main goal in general is to get to the side of the pool. I think he just wants to pick at the tiles and the splashes seem to be more effective on the side.

Chris loved the swim lessons and the boys were having a great time!
The instructor's had the kids jump off the sides to the parents. It was more of a belly-flop with daddy catching him!

I think Clayton's favorite part of the lessons is blowing bubbles. Actually, he likes when we blow the bubbles and he tries to catch them. This results in a lot of water up mom and dad's nose and one happy baby!
He tried to blow bubbles last lesson, but went into the water head first and mouth wide open!
He get's an A+ in the splashing department!

We have 3 more weeks, twice a week, of swim lessons left...more picture to come!

Give It to Clayton, He will Eat Anything!

Meet our little Garbage Disposal! Clayton will eat anything and everything!

This blog comes about because:
1. As I was changing him a couple days ago, I was surprised to find a legible receipt in the diaper. I hope I don't have to take anything back on that one!!
2. Chris asked how much dog food Lilli had in her bowl. When I asked why...He replied "Because there isn't any food in the bowl and the baby is throwing up brown stuff"!

We are starting with table food. We quickly found out that saltines don't disolve as fast as baby crackers. That's OK, Clayton can drink from a sippy cup (and it's only minimal back-wash).
Crawfish are a bit spicy still. We're expanding his palet!
We've taught both our little ones to 'sit' for their food.
Unfortunently, Lilli has discovered that she really likes baby puffs and goes in for the steal every chance she gets!

A New Arrival

They're finally here! I finally got my Invisalign braces.
This is the coolest invention. Do you see anything? Neither do I. I have had people ask me if I was wearing bleaching trays. I have brackets on a lot of the teeth and then snap these clear trays over them. I switch trays every 2 weeks for 26 weeks. In just one year I'm going to be all aligned!

I get to take them off for every meal. So, for the first couple of days when they are really tight, I tend to fast until Chris gets home (I can't get them out myself).
It must be a pretty cool thing because when I was getting fitted for them, half of the staff and students were standing around looking into my mouth.
