Our little Social Bug

Apparently I didn't take any pictures this week because my camera is empty. So, I thought that I would blog one of my favorite videos of Clayton from almost 2 months ago. He has a little obsession with the phone. He will hand me the phone and run down every name that he can think of in efforts to get me to call someone. Looks like he got an audience on this one. PLUS, he is multi-tasking. Check out the toy hopping while talking. Serious talent ;)

PS. He talks a whole lot better now but there is still a lot of jabber inbetween recognizable words.

Third Trimester...

Here you go Teryn ;)! This is the first and one of the only pictures I have of this pregnancy. (It is about 5:20 here and this is the result of a 1:00 church interrupting our nap time.) This is one of those pregnancies where I look like I have a big basketball in my shirt most of the time. Clayton still doesn't get the concept of a 'baby in the belly'...he is still the baby. So at least we have photo proof that he snuggled up to his sister at one point!

Summer Vacation

Well, school is back in for Chris and I realized that I haven't even posted the summer vacation pictures yet. Here they are:

Everything this summer has been a 'shark' for Clayton. At first it freaked me out when he would yell "shark" as we were walking along the beach but now I get that it is anything that swims. We caught a catfish....shark, Chris caught some minos..."shark", shamu at Sea World...."shark"- you get the idea ;)!
This is Clayton in the middle of doing the Shamu cheer. If you put your hands together and wave them like a fin, Shamu will come around and splash you. He is still talking about Shamu. It was one of the hightlights, for sure!

On our way down to San Antonio, we stopped at a cave. It was surprisingly interesting and we even got to see some bats (they called them 'furry chicken nuggets' because they were so small).

So, every time that we get the luggage out to use, Clayton askes to "ride, ride". It makes moving him from one place to the next a whole lot easier but you should see the looks we get in the airport. I promise, he really likes it.

Happy Birthday To You...

Happy Birthday Clayton T.
We just celebrated Clayton's 2nd birthday with family in Benton, LA. It was a great day filled with BBQ, bubbles, a boat ride, cake and LOTs of Hotwheel cars!

Once Clayton discovered how to blow out the candles...the festivities began. He asked to blow them out over and over again.

To my surprise he was very particular about opening each gift. He played with each before moving on to the next.

I wasn't planning on making a cake this year but felt the slight 'mommy guilt' for wanting to pick up a DQ cake. So, here you go....Is it a dino or an alligator. You vote :)!

Oklahoma's Finest

Ahhh, summer in the OKC....

Chris was outside mowing the lawn and I was on the phone with Adrianne...we looked up and saw the clouds swirling and then came the sirens. We ran over to the neighbor's storm shelter and had a regular neighborhood meeting down there. After the deafening hail and 120 degree shelter, we came out to Christmas morning.
last time this happened, we got a new roof.

what would a blog be without the C-Town. He loved all the 'balls' on the ground. He would've stayed out for the whole sha-bang if he had his way! Lilli, on the other hand, was very happy to be in the shelter with the sane people.

Update:

Not a whole lot going on this week. We are getting ready to go on our road trip to San Antonio and Florida, so this may be a stagnent blog for awhile. Our most exciting part of the week was going to the water park with our friends the Hamblins. Clayton had a smile on his face for at least 2 hours straight. Looks like we may have to get a pass next year.
Thank you cousin Sean for sharing your Dino's with us. Aunt Renee sent us a great box full of Dinos. Clayton has been carrying them around everywhere. In fact, I think I may have as many as 3 of the lovely creatures hanging out in my purse right now. Plus, Clayton likes to put them on our bed in the morning. You can imagine the surprise I get opening my eyes to a Jurassic sight!

Happy 4th Weekend!

Chris was off school for a whole 4 days this weekend and we kept him busy!!! Here's (some of) a recap (plus we went to a rodeo, smoked a turkey on his new smoker, watched moves...The Grinch over and over again, etc):
picken' blackberries...it was all fun and games until Clayton realized that there was a tractor (the berry picken' ended abruptly).

Lots of Chillin'! After we got rained out at the 4th of July, the weather was beautiful!

Cowboy museum. Clayton was great! He stayed in his stroller for 2 hours (never happened before ;). I think, in reality, he was afraid of all the life-sized characters!

OK, so the big-boy-bed is getting to be more familiar. I think this night, he gathered up all of his stuff and made a palet for himself on the floor. It didn't matter how many times I put him back in bed, I always found him 'camping' on the floor.
